Falling Performance In Key Subjects

Yarra Valley Grammar School's VCE Results Slip

Falling Performance in Key Subjects

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) results for Yarra Valley Grammar School have been released, and they show a concerning trend. The school's overall score has dropped from 65 in 2019 to 58 in 2023. This decline is particularly evident in key subjects such as English and Maths.

In English, the school's median score has fallen from 36 to 32 over the past five years. In Maths, the median score has fallen from 38 to 34 over the same period.

The school's principal, Dr Mark Evans, has expressed concern about the decline in VCE results. He said that the school is working to identify the reasons for the drop and to develop strategies to improve student performance.

School Community Unsettled

The decline in VCE results has unsettled the school community. Parents are concerned about the quality of education their children are receiving, and students are worried about their future prospects.

One parent, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that she was "very concerned" about the decline in VCE results. She said that she had sent her child to Yarra Valley Grammar because of its reputation for academic excellence.

A student, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said that he was "worried" about his future prospects. He said that he had always wanted to go to university, but now he was not sure if he would be able to get the grades he needed.

The school is working to address the concerns of the community. Dr Evans has said that the school is committed to improving student performance and that he is confident that the school can regain its reputation for academic excellence.
