Edwards Leads Minnesota With 32 Points

Timberwolves steal home-court in Game 1 upset

Edwards leads Minnesota with 32 points

Murray's 30 points not enough to overcome young Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off a stunning upset to beat the second-seeded Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of their Western Conference playoff series on Saturday night. Anthony Edwards led the way for Minnesota with 32 points, while D'Angelo Russell added 25 and Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokić, who finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists, and Jamal Murray, who had 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. However, it wasn't enough to overcome a strong performance from the Timberwolves, who shot 50.6% from the field, including 10-of-24 from three-point range. The Nuggets shot just 43.1% from the field and 7-of-32 from three-point range.

The Timberwolves led by 16 points at one point in the fourth quarter, but the Nuggets fought back to cut the lead to two with just over two minutes remaining. However, Minnesota held on for the victory, handing Denver its first loss at home in the playoffs this season.

The series between the Timberwolves and Nuggets now shifts to Denver for Game 2 on Monday night. The Nuggets will be looking to tie the series, while the Timberwolves will be looking to take a 2-0 lead.
